Young families and children gathered at Marsaskala Parish for a special celebration that combined festivity with spiritual reflection. Children were invited to attend wearing their favourite costumes, filling the church with colour and joy. Among the outfits were princesses, fairy characters, police officers, cowboys, clowns, soldiers, and other vibrant carnival-themed costumes, creating a lively yet respectful atmosphere within the sacred setting.

The liturgy focused on the deeper meaning of obedience, love, and preparation ahead of Lent. In his homily, Fr Luke Cutajar explained that Jesus shows that the Law and love are not opposed to one another. He stressed that Christians are called to obey not to do the minimum or simply what appears outwardly correct, but to live the Law in its fullness with all their heart. He also reminded the congregation that the joy of the festive season before Lent points beyond costumes and colours, inviting believers to change their hearts in preparation for the Passion and Resurrection of the Lord.

Following the celebration, fellowship continued on the church parvis, where families gathered and children shared in the joyful atmosphere. The event highlighted Marsaskala Parish’s commitment to bringing the community together through faith and shared moments.
